Iris4u Greenhouse TB Iris Online Catalog - The Goddess of the Rainbow
Welcome to Iris4u Greenhouse!
Dear Iris4u friends and fans,
Spring has taken its sweet time to arrive this year but finally, Tall-Bearded Iris buds are now starting to open, showing off their diverse and beautiful forms and features! It is foreseeable that customers old and new are going to want more color and newer iris varieties for their garden! Which is why we at Iris4u Greenhouse can completely understand the confusion over us closing our online shop unusually early this season.
Since the start of April, we have been experiencing an unprecedented demand for our iris varieties which can be attributed to not just the Corona-gardening phenomenon, but also to a very kind and gracious article about us in the current issue (May/June 2021) of the gardening magazine LandLust.
We ourselves are more than surprised by this incredible boom; almost overwhelmed by the attention. It was not an easy decision to make, but the mere fact that we are almost sold out has moved us to take this step.
Our online shop is now closed for the 2021 season!
We thank you for your understanding and are truly grateful for the trust our customers have placed in Iris4u Greenhouse!
We wish you a wonderful summer, stay healthy and see you next year!
Jennifer and Markus Dreyer
Discover more than 450 ways to bring color into your garden!
Iris4u Greenhouse has more than 450 varieties of Tall Bearded Iris, (Iris barbata-elatior), to offer you online this season. It’s not for nothing that the botanical name Iris refers to the Goddess of the Rainbow. With towering heights of up to 1 meter, these showy flowers with their assorted shapes and colors will fascinate and inspire you! The color spectrum stretches from strong tones such as velvety claret, golden brown, burnt orange, violet, and royal blue to pastel colors such as creamy white, pink-rosé or buttery yellow.
When will my Iris bloom? There are 3 main categories when Tall Bearded Iris start to flower: Early, Mid-season and Late. Naturally weather plays a big role - warm spring temperatures will mean an earlier start to the season. A cooler spring then means a later start. Below is a general rule of thumb when to expect color in your garden.
Very Early: beginning of May
Early: mid to end of May
Middle: end of May to the beginning of June
Late: mid to end of June
Rebloomer: Tall Bearded Iris is a winter hardy perennial which blooms each year in spring. A “Rebloomer” blooms in spring and can potentially bloom again in autumn. That’s what makes them so unique!
